Fir…kin of the Month Cask Conditioned Ale
The first Saturday of each month we tap a cask conditioned beer in the taproom. We call this, “The Fir…kin of the month” (This comes with a theme song as well). For those who don’t know, a cask, or a firkin as it’s also referred, is a 10.8 gallon keg-of-sorts. The beer will naturally condition in this vessel, unfiltered, unpasteurized and still containing live yeast to allow the beer to further condition. This creates a gentle, natural carbonation and allows the malt and hop flavors to fully develop, resulting in a richer beer with additional character.
We will occasionally have spontaneous and special event cask tappings. For that schedule make sure to follow us weekly on Facebook and Twitter!
